Rental Policy
Rental periods are as follows:
- 3 nights – from Friday afternoon – Monday morning*
- 4 nights – from Monday afternoon – Friday morning*
- 7 nights – from Monday afternoon- Monday morning or Friday afternoon – Friday morning*
*Does not apply to Patriot, it is unrestricted on scheduling.
Boarding time is between 2:00 and 5:00 PM on the first day of your rental period. Please allow one hour for captain’s instructions before departure. The houseboat needs to be returned full of gas, pumped out, and returned to slip before 10:00 AM on the last day of your rental period.
Reservations:
- Reservations can be made by calling 417-988-1387.
- A $500.00 security deposit, due upon booking, confirms your houseboat reservation. Upon receipt of your deposit, a rental confirmation will be mailed to you. The confirmation needs to be signed and is due back in our office along with the total amount of the rental fee 45 days prior to departure. If reservation is made less than 45 days prior to departure, the full amount of rental fee plus the security deposit is due at time reservation is made.
- If full rental payment is not received at least 45 days before departure date, your reservation will be considered cancelled and your entire deposit will be forfeited.
- If the houseboat is returned in satisfactory condition, the security deposit will be returned within 10 days of the trips end.
- Deposits and rental payments can be made by major credit cards, cash, or certified check. Make checks payable to: Five Star Houseboat Vacations LLC and mail to: Five Star Houseboat Vacations, 303 Yosemite Dr. Nixa, Mo. 65714.
Cancellations
- If you must cancel, notify us at least 45 days before your departure date. Your deposit will be refunded less a $100 cancellation fee.
- All cancellations made less than 45 days of rental period will lose the total deposit and rental fees.
- All rescheduling must be made prior to 45 days of rental period. Customers may reschedule in the same calendar year only for a $50.00 facilitating fee.
Rental requirements:
- No experience necessary.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Persons born after Jan. 1, 1984 must have a Missouri boater’s license in order to operate the houseboat. (Can be obtained by going to www. boat-ed.com)
- Must have a valid major credit card.
- No pets please.
- Smoking is NOT permitted inside any boat.
- We supply towels, wash clothes, linens, comforters, and 2 pillows per bed at no extra charge.
- Satellite TV with DISH network is included at no charge.
- Renter is responsible for all damages.
- Rental fees do not include tax or fuel.
- All houseboats are full of fuel at time of departure. You will be responsible for filling the fuel tanks at the end of your trip.
