Where is Five Star Houseboat Vacations located?

We are located on beautiful Table Rock Lake in Kimberling City, MO.   We operate out of Port of Kimberling Marina, in the central part of Table Rock Lake’s 800 miles of shoreline.  We only operate boats on Table Rock Lake.

Can I book my houseboat rental online?

We do not book online.  Please call us at (417) 988-1387 to make a reservation, or fill out our booking form to start a reservation.  We will take your $750 security deposit over the phone via credit card to secure your booking.

How do your trips operate?

We offer 3, 4, and 7 night trips that start and end on Monday, Thursday, and Friday.  These are the only days we operate on the dock.

Our crew will greet you on the dock and help you unload your belongings and get you them settled on the boat (We start boarding at 2:00 PM).  After our contract paperwork, our captains will conduct a walkthrough on your boat going over functions of the boat, starting, operating, and beaching the boat on shore for the evenings.  Our captain will pilot the boat out of the dock at the beginning of the trip, and we will turn the boat over to you once you are in open water.

On your return morning, the boat must be on the dock, refueled, and unloaded by 10:00 AM.  We ask our customers to meet us out in front of the marina by 9:00 AM so we can have a captain board, pilot the boat into the fuel dock, refuel the boat and pump the holding tanks, and return the boat to it’s slip on our dock.  The same crew that helped load you will help you unload your belongings and get them to your vehicles.

We also offer to have our captains park the boats for customers if they are not interested in driving.  Please discuss this with us when booking if you are interested.

Is fuel included in your rates? How much fuel will we use?

Fuel is not included in our rates.  You will run your generator for the duration of your trip, and a conservative estimate is that it will burn one gallon per hour of gasoline.  Cruising usually burns about 10 gallons per hour at a reasonable speed on the boat (6-8 MPH).  Most customers use 80-120 gallons of fuel on a 3 or 4 night trip.

(Fuel cannot be paid for using your security deposit)

Our boats hold 200 gallons of fuel or more, depending upon the boat.  On 7 night trips we plan a mid-week refuel to ensure our guests have plenty of fuel for the week.

Do you have hot tubs on your boats?

We no longer have hot tubs on our boats due to insurance issues.

What do you furnish on the boats?

We furnish bedding, towels and washcloths (please bring your own beach towels), dishes, silverware, and drinkware for the capacity of your boat, and a fully furnished kitchen.  There is a three burner Weber gas grill with propane on top of every boat.

What should we bring?

Besides typically daily attire/food and the packing list above, our customers typically bring:

  • Personal Boats (Wake/Ski/Fishing/Pontoon): If you have one (we will show you were to tie up to our boat during the walkthrough)
  • Waverunners:  Our marina no longer rents them, and there isn’t a convenient option for this at our location.
  • Kayaks/Paddleboards/Water Toys/Floaties
  • Extra Coolers
  • Life Jackets for watersports or children (we don’t have sized life jackets)

Click here for our packing list.

Where does the houseboat stay at night?

In the afternoon you’ll identify a gravel bank on the lake to beach the boat (we help with spots to park during the walkthrough).  Our boats are beached nose in with stern lines tied out to trees at night, and when parked during the days.

Our boats don’t come back into the marina during your trip, and we don’t have any anchors on the boats due to their size and the lake we are on.

Can we go in and out of the marinas?

Only Five Star’s captains can bring boats in and out of the marinas.  Most of the marinas on our lake do not have places to park our boats and/or have tight access for large boats like ours.

Do you allow pets?

We do not allow pets on any of our boats, and strictly adhere to this policy.  If a pet is found to be on one of our boats, this will result in a full loss of your security deposit.

Great folks who run an excellent business. I'd give them six stars if available. The houseboat was nice, clean, spacious, and well appointed for our family vacation. We experienced a mechanical issue on the second day, and Dave and Nancy really took care of us with the best customer service I've ever seen. They also had the boat fixed in record time. Thanks again for an excellent experience. Rent with confidence!!

This company was fantastic from the time we booked the houseboat! They happily, quickly and thoroughly answered all of our questions about what was included on the boat. They also helped answer questions about how the experience might be for my grandmother who has trouble walking and needs a walker. When we arrived and departed everyone was friendly and worked extremely fast to help haul all of our stuff onto and off of the boat. They had wheel barrels which they loaded our belongings and carried our stuff a long distance to the boat which was much appreciated and a huge time saver. The gentleman who explained how to drive the boat was kind, patient and thorough to answer all of our questions. The company was helpful with tying us off the first night and showing us how to do it for future nights. The boat was gorgeously maintained. Loved the jacuzzi at night and the slide was fun during the day! loved the excellent swim platform and easily climbable ladder off the back of the boat (even for my grandmother). The kitchen had everything you needed and the large eating table held everyone. The living area was super comfortable. We did have some issues getting the TV to work but....you should really be out enjoying the water LOL! The upstairs bar area with the extra fridge was great and the lounge chairs were perfect for lying out in the sun!

Extremely friendly, knowledgeable folks who help you load and unload the boat. For our weekend vacation, we were assigned the Bel-Air which was a very well-kept, spacious, and quiet boat. It had a good size galley, plenty of seating, ceiling fan on both the front and upper decks with central heat and air inside, I think seven bedrooms (one with bunks), two full baths, with a slide off the back. The upper deck has a wet bar, hot tub, TV, gas grill and several lounge chairs to lay out on. And to top it off, Table Rock is a very nice lake! I would definitely recommend a trip!
