rental policies
Boarding time is between 2:00 and 5:00 PM on the first day of your rental period.
Rental periods are as follows:
- 3-night vacation rental period – Friday to Monday, Monday to Thursday
- 4-night vacation rental period – Thursday to Monday, Monday to Friday
- 7-night vacation rental period – Monday to Monday, Thursday to Thursday, Friday to Friday
The houseboat needs to be returned full of gas, pumped out, and returned to slip before 10:00 AM on the last day of your rental period. Our captains will pilot the boat into the fuel dock and our dock on the final day of the trip.
Reservations
- Reservations can be made by clicking here or calling 417-988-1387.
- A $750.00 security deposit, due upon booking, confirms your houseboat reservation. Upon receipt of your deposit, a rental confirmation will be mailed to you. The confirmation needs to be signed and is due back in our office along with the total amount of the rental fee 60 days prior to departure. If the reservation is made less than 60 days prior to departure, the full amount of rental fee plus the security deposit is due at the time the reservation is made.
- If full rental payment is not received at least 60 days before departure date, your reservation will be considered canceled, and your entire deposit will be forfeited.
- If the houseboat is returned in satisfactory condition, the security deposit will be returned within 10 days of the end of the trip.
- Deposits and rental payments can be made by major credit cards, cash, check, or certified check. Make checks payable to: Five Star Houseboat Vacations LLC and mail to: Five Star Houseboat Vacations, PO Box 1030, Kimberling City, MO 65686.
Cancellations
- If you must cancel, notify us at least 90 days before your departure date. Your deposit will be refunded less a $250 cancellation fee.
- All cancellations made between 89 and 60 days of rental period will refunded less a $500 cancellation fee.
- All cancellations made in less than 60 days of rental period will lose the total deposit and rental fees.
- If you cancel a reservation that is for a holiday rental period, that deposit and fees are nonrefundable.
- All rescheduling must be made prior to 45 days of rental period. Customers may reschedule in the same calendar year only.
Houseboat Rental Requirements
- No experience necessary.
- Must be 25 years of age.
- Persons born after Jan. 1, 1984 must have a Missouri boater’s license (or equivalent from another state) in order to operate the houseboat. (Can be obtained by going to www.boat-ed.com)
- Must have a valid major credit card.
- No pets, please.
- Smoking is NOT permitted inside any boat.
- We supply towels, wash clothes, linens, comforters, and 2 pillows per bed at no extra charge.
- Satellite TV with DISH network is included at no charge.
- Renter is responsible for all damages. We do NOT offer a damage waiver.
- Rental fees do not include tax or fuel.
- All houseboats are full of fuel at the time of departure. You will be responsible for filling the fuel tanks at the end of your trip.

As always, our 7 day vacation on the house boat was relaxing and a lot of fun.This year it was even the location for our wedding . Five Star was amazing in assisting with helping this fall into place.

Great folks who run an excellent business. I'd give them six stars if available. The houseboat was nice, clean, spacious, and well appointed for our family vacation. We experienced a mechanical issue on the second day, and Dave and Nancy really took care of us with the best customer service I've ever seen. They also had the boat fixed in record time. This company was fantastic from the time we booked the houseboat! They happily, quickly and thoroughly answered all of our questions about what was included on the boat. They also helped answer questions about how the experience might be for my grandmother who has trouble walking and needs a walker. When we arrived and departed everyone was friendly and worked extremely fast to help haul all of our stuff onto and off of the boat. They had wheel barrels which they loaded our belongings and carried our stuff a long distance to the boat which was much appreciated and a huge time saver. The gentleman who explained how to drive the boat was kind, patient and thorough to answer all of our questions. The company was helpful with tying us off the first night and showing us how to do it for future nights. The boat was gorgeously maintained. Loved the jacuzzi at night and the slide was fun during the day! loved the excellent swim platform and easily climbable ladder off the back of the boat (even for my grandmother). The kitchen had everything you needed and the large eating table held everyone. The living area was super comfortable. We did have some issues getting the TV to work but....you should really be out enjoying the water LOL! The upstairs bar area with the extra fridge was great and the lounge chairs were perfect for lying out in the sun!
Extremely friendly, knowledgeable folks who help you load and unload the boat. For our weekend vacation, we were assigned the Bel-Air which was a very well-kept, spacious, and quiet boat. It had a good size galley, plenty of seating, ceiling fan on both the front and upper decks with central heat and air inside, I think seven bedrooms (one with bunks), two full baths, with a slide off the back. The upper deck has a wet bar, hot tub, TV, gas grill and several lounge chairs to lay out on. And to top it off, Table Rock is a very nice lake! I would definitely recommend a trip!
